Trina Olson

Funeral service for Trina Grace Olson, 84, of rural Gilbert will be 11 am Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at Ziemer-Moeglein-Shatava Funeral Home in Gilbert with Pastor Ron Johnson officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded by the Gilbert Color Guard. Interment will be in the Biwabik Township Cemetery. Trina died Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at Essentia Health – St. Mary’s in Duluth. She was born in Bennington, VT on August 5, 1934, the eldest child of Aldis and Mildred (Greene) Hill. Trina attended Bushnell School, then Bennington High School, graduating in 1952. Following high school, Trina enlisted into the Marine Corp Women’s Reserve where she met her Dale K. Olson. The couple were married on April 10, 1953. They moved to Minnesota where they have lived ever since. Trina accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and was presently attending Lakeside Bible Church. She believed that was the single most important thing she had done in her life. Survivors include four children: Dianne (Chuck) Bloom, David (Vickie) Olson (whom she had lived with since 2011), Dale (Cheryl) Olson and Denise (Scott) Gelhar; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters: June Cardinal, Joan (Donald) Facto, Lois (Ted) Eggsware; brothers: Bill (Kathy) Hill and Bradley Hill; sister-in-law: Sylvia Hill; brother-in-law: Bob McCart; numerous nieces and nephews; and her dog, Pepper Anne. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; son, Danny; two sisters: Shirley Elizabeth Hill and Kathleen McCart; brothers: Hollis and Aldis “Bubby” Hill; and her parents.
