William Alan Jofs

William A. Jofs, 85, of Aurora, passed away on December 25, 2024, at Northern Pines, surrounded by his loving family.

Born June 20, 1939, to Ruth and William Jofs, Bill dedicated 37 years of his career to Minnesota Power, where he progressed from lineman to customer service representative, serving the community he called home. A member of the Eveleth National Guard and the Aurora Moose Club, Bill was deeply rooted in his community.

An outdoorsman at heart, Bill found joy in hunting and fishing expeditions that took him from local waters to Canada and across western states. His passion for the outdoors was matched by his skill with his hands - he built his family's home, numerous cabins, and saunas, including a cherished hunting cabin that became a gathering place for loved ones. His entrepreneurial spirit showed in his dealings with farm machinery and cattle, but it was his legendary practical jokes that truly set him apart, bringing laughter to friends, family, and even unsuspecting passersby.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife Patricia; daughter Kelly (Mark) Sikkink of Chippewa Falls, WI; son Michael (Norma Jean) Jofs of Aurora, MN; sisters Darlene (Robert) Graff of Duluth, MN, Helen Perry of Kansas City, MO, and Bonnie (Dave) Rissanen of Big Falls, MN. He was a proud grandfather to William (Shelia) Takanen, Scott (Nikki) Sikkink, Trevor Sikkink, Andrea O'Malley, Hailee (Doug) Reinesch, and Levi Jofs. His legacy continues through his great-grandchildren: Livia, Aubrey, and Liam Takanen; Niko and Luka Sikkink; and Callahan and Eleanor Reinesch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and William Jofs, and his daughter Wendy Takanen.

Bill's life was a testament to the value of hard work, the importance of family, and the joy of making others smile. His memory will live on in the homes he built, the stories of his adventures, and the laughter he brought to all who knew him.

A private family service will be held at Bill's request.
